SLP - teaching english! 3/5/12

Hello loved ones! 
Sorry I have not wrote lately! 
I have been going through some MAJOR changes! I started my first day at SLP last Friday. This day was CHAOS! My yellow class speaks in a matter of yes's and no's. I believe that they understand more then they speak at the moment. My other kindergarden class is named Orange. Pictures of Orange students are on this blog post! They are ALL so awesome and adorable! This "orange" class was "yellow" class last time. I saw them graduate from yellow and now I am their teacher in orange class. They all have american names. Sometimes the names can get kind of crazy because their parents pick their names or they do! For example, the "bigger" little guy, his name is Antarctica! :) I mainly sing and dance for my yellow class and my orange class speaks english well and we are working on capital letters and lower case letters. As I type, I am waiting for my clothes to finish being washed and dried. There is no drier so, it does take longer. I did take a picture of the drying rack for my clothes right in the middle of my kitchen :) . The other interesting thing about my apartment, is my bathroom. The bathroom has a western style toilet BUT the shower head is connected with the sink. I have now gotten used to it but wearing slippers / flipflops is a must! I am now living with a Korean, her name is minie. She is very nice and VERY VERY helpful! :) She also works at the school as a Korean teacher. I did live with a girl named Jenny for about 2 weeks before her. She lived here for a little bit longer because this was here place for the past 15months of her SLP english teacher experience! I was sad to see her go because she was one awesome girl to get to know and she helped me out so much! When she left she left me with ALL this amazing art supplies. I am going to be painting and drawing LOTS! She filled a HUGE need and want in my life that I had to leave back in the states. I plan on drawing places I go and see and sending them to her :) . She is very into scuba diving and is making get the itch to get back into that. She is a very inspiring person to me. I am very grateful to of meet her. She is now leaving to travel Asia and dive and hike and all crazy cool things before she heads home to Cali. The people I met here are so amazing! I am now getting more and more seatled in. Feeling good about life! :) The adventure has just begun. I have been missing EVERYONE from home SO SO SO much. :-/ You all are in my thought ALL of the time.

Jakarta - rough on the outside a gem inside!

Let me start off by saying I would have had a complete different experience if I didn't have 2 of the most fantastic hostesses! If your reading this, you know who you are ;) . I don't know if that experience would of been bad but I did get to see and learn more about Jakarta than a normal backpacker traveling through would. Jakarta has about 10 million people living in the city and about 10 million traveling in and out of the city. The city does not have a subway! If there was one word that Lauren and Monica taught me how to say in Indonesian it was traffic! Lauren and I took full advantage of the traffic we sat in to get to know one another! So of course it worked in our favor :) . Before writing on this blog , I wrote in my travel journal and took up like 5 pages of bullet points of things we did each day! In Singapore for 3 dayzzz!

Leaving pohang and the people there was one of the hardest things I have ever done. I have never met such a amazing group of people like them. I feel very blessed to have been able to have shared this past year with each and every one of them! The cool thing is I know I will see everyone other places in the world in the future because of the friendship we have built in Korea together! I will never forget.. 💛💙💜💚❤ After traveling for about a full day from pohang , South Korea. I am now here in the Singapore airport. Stephanie and I are now waiting for her brother to come in on his flight. We had a lay over in Manila. This airport was nice and we had sometime to kill so we hung out in a cafe. We then found out we needed to get to a different terminal for our flight. Then we found out that no shuttle busses were running because it was 4 am! So we were told to take a taxi ... I decided to exchange some of my money to pesos cuz I would be able to use it when I am back in about 2 weeks...

Thailand. The land of PAD THAI!!

I am once again at a internet cafe in Loas. I need to play catch up with my entries. I have been so busy that because my iTouch went missing/stolen in beginning of Thailand my entries have been few and far between. I have only 30 minutes to tell you all about the land of Pad Thai, Thailand!!! On the first day we started at a good cheep hostel called Southern Fried Rice. This is were we met up with Stephaine and her older brother. We then walked around town and saw Kata beach. We sat and talked on the beach and watched the sunset. Life is hard, I know. . . After this we decided to go to this putt putt golf. We drank beers while venturing around this course. After golf we went for dinner. Chrisitie and I were both very very tired from traveling for about 2 straight days to get to Thailand. So we went home and slept. We then got up early to take a bus to the port.
